Music Ministry at Christ
Lutheran Church
Music Ministry is a vital part
of Christ Lutheran
Church, which has a thriving music program, and has opportunities for
all ages and abilities. Children, youth, students, and adults contribute their
energy and talents to praise God throughout the seasons of the church year.
Our congregation’s musical
life is enhanced by the adult choir, the children’s LOGOS choir, various instrumentalists who contribute special music,
and the churches concert series, which brings in performers from around the world. We
invite you to join with us in our worship of God through music, even if you cannot commit to a great amount of time, by performing
at special times of the year, like Christmas or Easter.
The Organ
Our pride and joy is our Taylor
& Boody pipe organ (Opus 24), which is a two manual, mechanical key and stop action organ.
The instrument leads congregational singing, and is capable of handling a wide range of solo literature, and can be
played without electricity by hand pumping. It has 1420 pipes and can be very soft or dramatically loud. For a complete stop list and more information about this and other instruments by Taylor & Boody, please
visit their website: http://www.taylorandboody.com/
Rehearsal Schedule:
The Adult Choir meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:15-8:15 P.M. in the choir room. The choir leads congregational singing and provides special music at church services every Sunday morning
(during the regular school year) and for special services such as Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, Easter Ever, and for Holy
Week.
The Children’s LOGOS
Choir meets on Wednesday’s from 5:40-6 P.M. (seasonally)
See our Youth Director, Tom Miller, for more information on LOGOS.
The Men’s Choir, which is our newest musical addition at Christ
Church, meets on a “called” basis.
PLEASE SHARE YOUR TALENTS WITH US!!!
